Sarah Hammond, MA, RP
Child & Family Therapist
Sarah has worked with various client populations and ages including those with acquired brain injuries, developmental delay and stroke working to support their engagement in activities to promote longevity, well-being and improve their independence. Sarah has previously been a part of multiple interdisciplinary teams including at Joseph Brant Hospital, Hamilton Health Sciences and Holland Bloorview Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital. During that time, Sarah participated in the delivery of individual and group therapies, including cognitive and psychosocial groups. Sarah is passionate about helping children and families navigate difficult situations and strive to create a safe space to explore growth and change.
Sarah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Waterloo and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Sarah is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Sarah also has a diploma from Humber College as an Occupational and Physiotherapy Assistant. Sarah also has completed level 1 Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy training.
Foundational to Sarah's knowledge and skills is a wide range of experiences working with children and families in both the professional hospital/health services environment and as a children’s performing arts instructor. Sarah previously enjoyed an eighteen-year career as a tap, jazz, ballet and musical theatre performer and choreographer.
In her spare time Sarah loves to oil paint, hike with her dog and kayak.
