Sarah Hammond, RP Qualifying
Child & Family Therapist
Throughout my healthcare career I have worked with various client populations and ages including those with acquired brain injuries, developmental delay and stroke working to support their engagement in activities to promote longevity, well-being and improve their independence. I have previously been a part of multiple interdisciplinary teams including at Joseph Brant Hospital, Hamilton Health Sciences and Holland Bloorview Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital. During that time, I participated in the delivery of individual and group therapies, including cognitive and psychosocial groups. I am passionate about helping children and families navigate difficult situations and strive to create a safe space to explore growth and change.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Waterloo and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and am working towards certification as a Play Therapist. I also have a diploma from Humber College as an Occupational and Physiotherapy Assistant.
Foundational to my knowledge and skills is a wide range of experiences working with children and families in both the professional hospital/health services environment and as a children’s performing arts instructor. I previously enjoyed an eighteen-year career as a tap, jazz, ballet and musical theatre performer and choreographer.
In my spare time I love to oil paint, hike with my dog and kayak.
