Meet The Team

Katie Unger graduated in 2008 with her Bachelors degree in Science and Social Work. She has been working with The Play Clinic since 2022.

Katie is a lifelong learner.  Katie has taken DDP level 1 as well as training in DBT and is certifying in Play Therapy with the CAPT. She has 13+ years experience in supportive counselling with women and children; affected by domestic violence, homelessness, trauma, family breakdown and mental health issues.

Katie has completed

• Canadian Assoc of Play Therapy Certified Play Therapist (CPT)

• Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), level 1

• INPP Neuromotor Aseessment and Intervention Practitioner Intern

• Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) certification 

• Clayfield in the treatment of children

In her spare time, you will find Katie embracing the chaos and joy that comes with raising 3 young children alongside her husband. To unwind and recharge she enjoys hot coffee, and the creative experience of crocheting items for loved ones.
